Our Client is a large health service provider, including mental health services, aged care services and much more.

An opportunity has arisen for a CLINICAL NURSE  to work with its dedicated and committed staff.

DUTIES

  • Maintains national competence for a Registered Nurse to practice in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives board of Australia.
  • Maintain advanced skills and competence in the provision of patient assessment, care, planning, implementation, evaluation of delivery of care and discharge planning within the practice setting.
  • Perform the role of clinical expert for the unit / hospital providing professional advice and assistance in relation to clinical standards and practice, in conjunction with the Health Service Manager.
  • Coordinate the operational management of the unit, on a shift by shift basis and ensure continuum of care within the hospital, including after hours.
  • Ensure own documentation is clear, concise and satisfies legal requirements.
  • Maintain a safe workplace and practice for staff, colleagues, patients and visitors
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors.
  • Establish and maintain communication which facilitates team work.
  • Participate in educational activities within the hospital, and attend annual core programs such as CPR and Advance Life Support.
  • Assist the Health Service Manager with forward resource planning and implementation of management strategies.

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Eligible for registration in the category of REGISTERED NURSE by the Nurses and Midwives board of Australia.
  • Demonstrates advanced nursing practice within the relevant practice setting (Aged Care, Medical and Rural Emergency).
  • Demonstrates advanced skills in planning, coordination and decision-making within the relevant practice setting.
  • Demonstrates well developed team leadership and preceptor skills.
  • Demonstrates well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates incorporation of quality and risk management within practice.
  • Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services, Occupational Safety and Health and how these impact on employment and service delivery.

 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Possession of or progression towards an appropriate post graduate degree.
  • Knowledge of current heath issues and the organisational culture of rural health.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.

 

REMUNERATION

  • AUD 90,000 to 125,000 per annum commensurate with experience.
